Kimberly Eiten anchors WMBD News at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. and WYZZ at 9:30 p.m.
Joining the team in September 2019, this is a return home for the Central Illinois native. She’s thrilled to be back!
Kimberly grew up in LaSalle-Peru and is a graduate of Saint Bede Academy. Her first job in journalism was writing about high school happenings as a junior reporter for the LaSalle NewsTribune.
Since then, she’s chased breaking news stories all over the country.
During her time as a reporter in Orlando, Florida, she covered the murder of The Voice star Christina Grimmie, the mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub and a deadly alligator attack on a toddler at Disney World.
Kimberly was on scene as FBI agents raided city hall offices in Baltimore, Maryland, and reported on the mayor’s resignation days later.
She investigated and broke a story on firefighters’ repeat DUI arrests in Portland, Oregon which later led to departmental policy changes.
She’s also worked as a reporter and anchor in Lincoln, Nebraska.
But, her favorite job is being a dog mom to her pups: Peter Jennings, Jimini Cricket, Taco and Rahe Rahe! (In case you’re wondering, yes, four dogs is too many!)
On days off, Kimberly and her fiancé, Rob, enjoy tackling new recipes, cheering on the Bears and checking out all the great restaurants in Central Illinois.
