Morning Anchor
Kyreon joined the WMBD/WYZZ team in June 2021 as co-anchor of both WMBD This Morning and Good Day Central Illinois.
Kyreon is a proud mama! She and her husband have two daughters, Mahlani and Harmoni. Originally from mid-Missouri, they are happy to call central Illinois their new home!
Kyreon is a 2018 graduate of the University of Missouri (MIZ!), where she obtained her Bachelor’s of Journalism with an emphasis in Radio-TV Anchoring and Reporting. She also obtained a minor in sociology. During her time at MU, Kyreon had the opportunity to anchor, report, and produce for the university-owned NBC station, KOMU 8 News.
Prior to moving to central Illinois, Kyreon was a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor at KRCG-TV in Jefferson City, Missouri for three years. During her time at KRCG, she covered many events including the 2019 tornadoes in Jefferson City and Eldon. The coverage from the team won a National Edward R. Murrow award.
Outside of work, Kyreon enjoys time with her baby girl, shopping on Amazon, traveling, and watching a good show on Netflix!
You can catch Kyreon on-air Monday through Friday on WMBD This Morning from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., and Good Day Central Illinois on WYZZ from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and WMBD News at Noon.
