Multimedia Journalist & Photographer
Rosario Dominguez joined the WMBD/WYZZ news team in September 2018 as a Multimedia Journalist.
Rosario was born and raised on the south side of Chicago after her parents immigrated from Mexico. Rosario obtained her B.A. in Media Communications from Trinity Christian College. There, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain. After graduating she worked as a medical interpreter for a year before starting her Masters Degree in Journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
During her time at UW-Madison, she was a David Maraniss Scholar and worked at local newspapers where she got to publish numerous stories in Spanish and English. She got to publish an investigative story with Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism which won a Milwaukee Press Club Award in 2018.
She also interned at Madison’s local NBC affiliate station for a year where she got to learn and experience first-hand what the industry entailed. Her last semester in graduate school was spent at CNN Español in Atlanta where she got to publish several digital stories.
She is a member of The National Association of Hispanic Journalists and when she’s not following a story, she likes to travel, sing and play instruments, attend church activities, stay physically active and visit her big family in Chicago.
Rosario is excited to call Central Illinois her home.
