MACKINAW, Ill. — Fans of the Humbolt Park Alligator can be excited about a new reptile on the loose, this time in central Illinois.
Heritage lake residents have been having sightings of an iguana walking around for several weeks.
The Facebook group that has been collecting sightings of the iguana named it “Chance the Raptile,” after Chance the Rapper. The same as the alligator that once lived in the Humboldt park lagoon in Chicago who was named “Chance the Snapper.”
Iguanas can only live in warm weather, and residents have been working to catch “Chance the Raptile” before it gets too cold.
