PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – Wildlife Prairie Park is starting construction to update, repair and build new facilities in the park.
Intern executive director of the park Dave Brugger said that he has been anticipating the construction for over a year.
“This park has been here for 30 plus years as well as many of these buildings have been here for 30 plus years so obviously there is some maintenance that we need. we need some new roofs in some of the areas,” Brugger said.
In addition to roof repairs, the park will also be building a new brick entryway and 4 new cabins. The cabins will be built in the south pasture where the bison and elk are kept.
The Wildlife Prairie Park is currently running a “Bison Brick Paver Program” to raise funds for the animals and new constructions. To donate and learn more you can go to their website.
