PEORIA, Ill.– The Barton Family Foundation received the highest award the Boy Scouts of the America organization has to offer.
The award ceremony was held Friday night at the Quest Charter Academy. It received the award due to its contributions to over 40 local non-profits including Easter seals, Habitat for Humanity and St. Jude Run.
“It was a pleasure to give the Barton Family Foundation the 2019 Distinguished Citizen Award for their involvement in the community for the bettering the community, education and every possible good deed that they can do for our community,” Fundraiser for Boy Scouts of American Rita Kriss said.
Scouts Executive Lee Shaw Jr. said this was a great night for the scouts because it teaches leadership and promotes community service.
