PEORIA, Ill. — The McClugage Bridge is home to a pair of ospreys.
The ospreys – not to be confused with eagles or falcons – have been fascinating bridge drivers all summer. They can be seen on the eastbound span of the McClugage Bridge.
Osprey pairs are generally monogamous and often mate for life, according to the National Wildlife Federation. Ospreys can dive at 30 miles per hour.
They are commonly mistaken for bald eagles.
*This story previously noted the birds were peregrine falcons.
