A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for all of Central Illinois through 3:00 pm Tuesday, 08/20/19.
A mesoscale convective complex continues to push out of Eastern Iowa into a highly unstable airmass sitting over the top of us in Central Illinois.
Storms will begin to move into our western areas, west of the Illinois River, around 9:00 am Tuesday. A bowing line of storms will weaken upon progressing east, toward I-55, by lunch time (late morning-early afternoon).
While damaging winds, wind gusts near 70 MPH, will most likely occur with these storms, isolated tornadoes and 1″ diameter hail could also accompany this line. Watch Meteorologist Lauren Rainson track this cluster of severe storms now on WMBD This Morning and WYZZ Good Day Central Illinois.
