LACON, Ill — Big trucks are in the process of transporting wind turbines to the future wind farm in Streator.
72 out of 114 of the turbines have now reached their destination. Friday morning, the semis rolled through Lacon on their way to Streator. Mayor John Wabel says crews ran into at least one problem along the way.
“We had a mechanical breakdown on one of the trucks one day, I think the driver had a heart attack, that truck couldn’t move. So, a couple of minor things,” said Mayor John Wabel.
The trucks are expected to finish their wind turbine mission sometime in the next two weeks.
