Bad U-turn Shuts Down Traffic, Power in Pekin

A driver trying to make a u-turn in Pekin crashes into a utility pole, shutting down traffic and power for hundreds.

The crash happened near the intersection of 8th St and Charlotte on Wednesday around 3:15pm. Pekin Police said that traffic on 8th St. would be shut down for around two to four hours from Hamilton to Henrietta.

Initially, at least 995 Ameren Illinois customers in Pekin were without power. Power is expected to be restored in the same timeframe as traffic.
