PEORIA, Ill. — Four local businesses came together for a battle of the bars to raise money for a foster-based rescue on Saturday.
The event raised money for T.R.A.I.N., which stands for Team Rescuing Animals in Need. They provide temporary homes for animals with fosters.
Oliver’s, The Silver Dollar, Schooner’s, and Crusens all particpated.
Each location had a silent auction and volunteers selling raffle tickets to vote on which bartender to pie in the face.
All money will support T.R.A.I.N., as the bars competed to raise the most money.
“It’s gonna be a huge impact on the animals, those that are awaiting surgeries, or those that are ill will be able to get the care that they need,” said volunteer Misty Strode.
Volunteers say they hope to raise $5,000.
