Bloomington Police searching for person who fled from fatal hit-and-run crash

Bloomington Police officers are on the look out for a person they say fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident.

Around 3:40 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to the intersection of Main Street and Macarthur Avenue for an accident. In a press release, officers say that’s when they learned a van had struck a motorcycle. The department later found that the driver of the van reportedly fled the scene on foot.

The motorcyclist was driving north on Main Street and the van was traveling east on Macarthur Avenue. The male motorcyclist was transported to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center. He was later pronounced dead by the McLean County Coroner’s Office.

Identification of the deceased will be released once the family has been notified.

If your call leads to the arrest and indictment of suspect(s) you may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
