The city of Washington is urging people to be patient while driving between Spring and Wood streets.

Local leaders met today to discuss the closure of Business 24.

The project will begin on Monday, increasing clearance under a viaduct.

But the main concern behind the closure: how it will affect local businesses.

“We want to make sure, not only the people of Washington can find it. But people throughout Central Illinois know we’re open for business,” Gary Manier, Mayor of Washington, said.

The project is expected to be finished by September 16th.
