Cornerstone Christian Academy in Bloomington will soon be able to complete its high school expansion.

The initial shell of the building was built in 2008. The college prep school does not do fundraisers, so since then the academy has been praying for donations to come in. Then last week, a gift put them over their $600,000 goal.

The additions will include two state-of-the art biology and chemistry labs, administrative offices, and additional classrooms.

“With the new labs will come an opportunity I think to do a better job in terms of preparing kids for what they will experience in college, especially with lab equipment and lab techniques,” added Doug Pavey, Head of School at Cornerstone Christian Academy.

Work on the new labs and classrooms will begin on April 1.

Cornerstone plans to have the building ready when school starts in the fall.
