The East Bluff Community Center focuses on neighborhood stability serving as a safe-haven for children and adults. Monday afternoon Congresswoman Cheri Bustos toured the facility to explore its initiative.
Each year, the center looks for more ways to collaborate with the community and help families in the area. It has a food pantry, rental space, and offers numerous programs to help create positive relationships. Congresswoman Bustos says this experience shows how important balance in within a community.
“This center is really is a house for the neighborhood,” said Tim Cunningham, Board President of the East Bluff Community Center.
“This [center] has been around for a number of years,” said Congresswoman Cheri Bustos. “You have community members coming together to make this happen and now they’re doing great work, but we got to make sure that they can continue to do great work.”
The community center strives to be a place for recreation, celebration and community service. It’s open each weekday from 8 am to 6 pm. It’s located at 512 E Kansas St, Peoria, IL 61603.
