March 14 (3.14) is known as Pi (Pie) Day. To celebrate, Yvonne and Assistant News Director Jaymee Toler whipped up some of Jaymee’s grandma’s award-winning pie crust.
- 3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. butter-flavored Crisco
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 5 Tbsp. water
Cut shortening into flour and salt. Beat egg and add water and vinegar to it. Pour this mixture a tablespoon at time into the four-Crisco mixture. Roll out for desired type of pie. This will make 2 bottom and 1 top crust.
