PEORIA, Il. - An iconic steel house built more than 80 years ago now has a permanent address.Wheels O’ Time in Peoria opened up for the season this week and unveiled "The Carefree Home". Designed in the 1930's these steel homes were built to resist storms, termites and fire.
Exhibit organizers are excited to show off the unique way of living to generations off families.
“The older folks were so happy to see things they had been and what they remembered with all the memories the house brought back,” said Marcia Johnson,Museum manager, She adds, “Young people were amazed of how cozy and little these rooms are.”
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday.
