A 3 year-old girl is in critical condition after she almost drowned in a home pool.
That’s according to the News Tribune.
The incident occurred Wednesday night on the east side of La Salle. First responders were called in to the home in the 2100 block of Rockwell Road at 7:22 p.m.
When they arrived, they learned that a child was pulled from the water after being found at the bottom of an above-ground pool. The child’s parents were administering CPR before emergency personnel took over. The little girl was transported to the Illinois Valley Community Hospital then to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Police say there were no fences around the pool while witnesses say the child was out-of-sight for a brief period of time.
The incident remains under investigation.
