5-year-old boy dies in Peoria pool, no foul play suspected

PEORIA, Ill. – UPDATE: Peoria County Coroner, Jamie Harwood says Jeremiah T. Wilson, 5, of Peoria, died of drowning Friday night.

There was no evidence of trauma or injury prior to being found in the water and there is no suspicion of foul play.

A 5-year-old boy is dead after a drowning Friday night. 

The Peoria County Coroner says police were called to Seven Oaks Apartments on reports the boy was missing. 

When officers arrived they found the boy at the bottom of the complex’s pool. 

An officer immediately dove in to pull the boy out and began CPR. 

He was rushed to OSF St. Francis Medical Center but died at 6:45 p.m. 

At this point the boy’s name is not being released. 

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
