55-year-old East Peoria woman dies motorcycle accident

(PEORIA COUNTY)-  An East Peoria woman died Saturday after being involved in a severe motocycle crash.

55-year-old Marissa Cumbie was found unresponsive as by her motorcyle around 10 a.m. near Jefferson Ave in Morton Township. 

A driver saw her and called 911. 

Peoria County Coroner, Jamie Harwood, said she was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center via Morton Fire Department in critical condition. She later died just before 2:15 p.m.

Harwood said Cumbie suffered severe head and chest trauma.

She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, a detail provided in the press release.
