A New Name Emerges In The Race For Tazewell County Sheriff

Robert Huston is endorsing his chief deputy to succeed him as Tazewell County Sheriff.

Jeffery Lower will run for the position in 2018. Born and raised in Pekin, Lower became a volunteer officer in 1988, eventually becoming a Deputy Sheriff in Tazewell County in 1991.

Over the past 6 years Lower has served as Chief Deputy in Tazewell County and was selected to train at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virgina. It’s known  as the “West Point for law enforcement.”

 The announcement comes after Pekin Detective Mike Eeten announced his candicy for Tazewell County Sheriff  last month.
