The American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois visits Peoria Wednesday night. The ACLU is hosting its “We the People” statewide listening tour.
Peoria is the third stop on the tour. Over the next several months, the organization is trying to get to every corner of the state. The town hall style meeting is in the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall on Hamilton Boulevard.
Colleen Connell, the executive director, says they have already been hearing concerns over police brutality, use of force and racial profiling.
The tour is also making a stop in Bloomington-Normal on November 29th.
