Efforts to align work place professionals with kindergarten through 5th grade at Valeska Hinton Early Childhood Center are underway.

“It’s really bringing the community to the table and working in partnership with our school systems, with our service providers, and our employers,  and beginning to build a common language that makes it easier for students to follow,” says Marcia Bolden.

The effort, known as Alignment Peoria, works hand-in-hand with the Peoria Public School district’s strategic plan.

More than 100 local professionals will collaborate with the school and it’s students to instill trust and integrity for their futures.

“This pilot will impact approximately 6,000 students in PPS and so it’s a great time to teach kids and help them to explore and discover what they like, what their interests are, and connecting the world of work to school,” says Bolden.

Alignment Peoria hopes to enable children to be successful and focus on the needs of the whole child.
