Alpacas strut their fluff this weekend during the alpaca show

PEORIA - If you’ve ever wanted to see alpaca's with hats, Saturday was your chance during the alpaca costume contest!

Hundreds of alpacas made their way into Peoria to strut their fluff in competitions all this weekend.

They were judged on their fleece quality in the normal competitions and their fashion sense during the costume contest.

Bud Synhorst is the Executive Director of Alpaca Owners Association. He says, "People are coming out to learn. They're very much curious. They're enjoying the education. They get a selfie, we give them a little fun facts brochure which tells them a little bit about alpacas. Alpacas are grown for their fiber, their fleece to create the garments that you see from the different vendors all around."

The event is free to the public, so if you haven't been able to make it out to the show yet, don't worry!

They will be open from 8 to noon tomorrow at the Peoria Civic Center.
