Ameren Illinois activates Emergency Operations Center due to severe weather

Local News

DECATUR, Ill. — Ameren Illinois has proactively opened its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Decatur due to severe weather.

The EOC is the hub of all storm activities across the Ameren Illinois service territory. Once activated, it transforms into a 24/7 command center where staff can help manage all aspects of storm response and outage restoration efforts, including the deployment of personnel and resources to heavily impacted areas.

The room also contains large monitors that track outage numbers in real‐time, as well as the duration of the entire storm.
