Another solar energy project may be coming to central Illinois.

Cypress Creek spoke at the McLean County Zoning Board Tuesday night to ask for a solar power generating facility, that would be located near I-74 on Bloomington’s south side.

The board ruled in favor of the new farm unanimously and it will move to the county board next month. This would be one of the first Cypress Creek solar systems in the state of Illinois.

The company said a farm like this would provide the economy with 25 construction jobs. It would also be able to give solar power to 321 homes in the county.

They have solar farms in over 10 other states and believe McLean County is a great place to expand their company.
