Another suspected Peoria arson emerges, just steps from home that was damaged by an arson weeks ago

PEORIA, Ill - Early Wednesday afternoon another suspected arson emerged in Peoria.

This is the 5th arson within weeks leaving investigators looking for answers.

Wednesday’s fire was spotted quickly a vacant home at the 700 block of Armstrong Road and firefighters acted immediately.

The home didn't suffer major damage due to the fire being contained to the home’s exterior.

Just weeks ago another suspected arson happened at a house right across the street.

No suspect is in custody at this time, but this increasing number of arsons is leaving many neighbors uneasy.

“There’s a lot of eyes out here and we just rely on them to help us in these kind of cases,” said Peoria Fire Chief Ed Olehy, “If something looks out of place let us know, call the police department.”

If you have any information the Peoria arson hotline wants to hear from you, that number is 309-494-8776.
