CENTRAL ILLINOIS– If you are looking for something to do with the family for Labor Day, Peoria and Bloomington got you covered this weekend!
Peoria will host its 18th annual Labor Day picnic and parade Monday from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. in front of the first station on Monroe Street, ending at the Peoria County Courthouse. Food and beverages will be available at the Riverfront Festival Park.
Bloomington is hosting an annual parade at 10 a.m. Monday from Downtown Bloomington to Miller Park. The parade features union marching units, community organizations, Illinois State University’s “Big Red Marching Machine,” high school bands and elected officials. The parade theme this year is “Labor Day – 125th Anniversary.”
Golf Bloomington will host its first-ever Fold of Honor Golf Classic 9 a.m. Monday at the Den at Fox Creek. This is a two-person shamble and food and beverages will be provided. The Illinois Symphony will play in Bloomington at Miller Park at 6:30 p.m. Sunday to salute Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday. This free event allows families to enjoy a picnic while enjoying a patriotic concert.
