Students from Peoria High Schools celebrated a new semester with plenty of encouragement.
Parents lined up just outside of Richwoods High School to cheer on students leaving for the day. Community members held up motivational signs and high-fived every student. The principle says its a way to show support for the student’s education.
“Alignment Peoria is the local business community and the school district working together, to basically put our challenges on the table, work together as a community, to better not only our educational services to our kids, but also our entire community as a whole,” said Brett Elliot, principal of Richwoods High School.
Alignment Peoria organized the event, a non-profit dedicated to student achievement and happiness.
