PEKIN, Ill.– Local students were able to make bath bombs as part of stress relief week at the Pekin Public Library.
With students going back to classes next week, the library was hoping to teach students some self-care techniques to prepare for the new school year.
“I wanted to have a week of relaxation techniques so they could figure out ways to de-stress when things get a little too much for them to handle.”
Samantha Boehle, Youth Program Coordinator at the Pekin Public Library
Students who attended Monday’s event not only learned about how to make bath bombs, but also aromatherapy and how different scents can be beneficial to your body.
Stress relief week will continue through Thursday with days dedicated to making kinetic sand, doing yoga and making DIY fidget toys.
The activities will go from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and all students 6th-12th grade are welcome to attend.
