Beams painted in preparation for Ronald McDonald House beam signing

Local News

The Ronald McDonald house is soon to open up in Peoria, but before the building is finished– there are two beams that still need to be lifted.

Tuesday the beams were painted in preparation for the community-wide beam signing event called “Raise Those Radiant Beams.”
Donors, community members and children in local area hospitals will be able to sign the beams and leave notes of hope and inspiration.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois CEO, Kelly Thompson, said the signing of the beams will be meaningful.

“The raise those radiant beams event is very important just in terms of that recognition, that it’s only made possible because of the extensive community support that we’ve received and all of the hundreds of donors and volunteers that come out and want to be part of this event,” Thompson said.

Donors and the public will be able to sign a beam on May 6 and May 10 —  the other beam will be brought into different hospitals in Peoria so that children can sign it as well.
