The Bradley University community showed students just how dangerous it is to drive drunk and they did it with a hands-on experience.
The Bradley HEAT group hosted their annual beer drive on Tuesday.
The event had students, faculty and staff all wearing beer goggles while attempting to drive a golf cart. Participants were able to simulate the feeling of driving drunk.
Co-director of the Bradley HEAT says activities like this are important to remind students of why they should never get behind the wheel of a car after drinking.
“The problem is it’s really killing people out there,” Bradley HEAT co-director Sophia Fishkin said. “It’s really injuring people and putting them in hospitals, innocent people are dying at the hands of drunk drivers. So its really important to understand the consequences.”
After the simulation, some students realized why it would not be wise to drink and drive.
