BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — The City of Bloomington now has a way to figure out how to distribute cannabis.

Monday night, the council approved the creation of a 10-person marijuana task force. The committee will help create regulations as well as devise a multi-year rollout plan.

Councilwoman Jenn Carrillo, sparked the idea weeks ago. She says in order to create a cannabis-permissive community, regulations have to come from community members, law enforcement, city leaders and business owners.

Appointments for the committee will begin immediately.
