Bloomington city leaders want your input on proposed changes to Rt. 9

Local News

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Transportation is proposing adding bike lanes to portions of Illinois Route 9.

According to the plan, IDOT plans to add 17,850 ft (5.44 km) feet of bike lanes which would create a loss of 226 parking spaces.

The state is requesting consent from the city of Bloomington on the project, but city leaders want to hear your opinion before they do so.

This Thursday all are invited to attend a public meeting where you will be allowed to offer input on IDOT’s proposed changes.

The meeting is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Bloomington City Hall in Council Chambers.

If you cannot make the meeting you can submit a written comment to publicworks@cityblm.org.
