Bloomington man arrested for 2018 drug-induced homicide

A man has been arrested for a drug-induced homicide in Bloomington from 2018.

Wednesday, the Bloomington Police Department arrested 35-year-old Christopher Barker of Bloomington at around 11:30 a.m. Barker had an outstanding McLean County warrant for drug-induced homicide and his bond is set at $1,000,000. 

McLean County Coroner Dr. Kathleen Yoder identified the deceased as George Darnell, 44, of Bloomington. The McLean County Coroner’s Office determined that Darnell died as a result of a drug overdose. The investigation began on Nov. 8, 2018 in the 600 block of South McClun Street. 

Barker’s warrant and arrest is a result of a joint effort by the McLean County Coroner’s Office, the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office and the BPD.
