Bloomington man arrested for burglary, weapon offenses

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — A 21-year-old Bloomington man has been arrested for burglary and having a stolen firearm.

The Bloomington Police Department arrested Drashan M. Jackson while he was in possession of the stolen firearm.

BPD officers were dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of E Empire St. for a report of a vehicle burglary just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Officers learned that a firearm and other personal property were stolen from vehicles in the parking lot.

Officers were also able to determine the same suspect had stolen an item from inside of the business. Jackson was ultimately arrested Wednesday morning.

He was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, possession and use of a stolen firearm, burglary, theft and a previous conviction.

On Wednesday morning, July 24th, 2019, BPD’s Street Crimes Unit, patrol division, and detectives division arrested Drashan M. Jackson, 21, of Bloomington, while he was in possession of the stolen firearm.

Jackson’s bond is set at $300,000. He is currently in custody at the McLean County Jail.
