Between long commutes, long hours, and working from home, Americans are working more than ever.
That can lead to a poor work-life balance. Financial blog Fabric is breaking down the top 15 cities in the United States offer the best work-life balance.
The scores for each city are based on the fastest commutes, the shortest average work weeks, and the highest cost-of-living-adjusted incomes. That calculation factors in the differences in the price of goods and services in a particular area.
Springfield, Illinois came in at number 15 on the list. The state’s capital scored well when it came to the balance of work hours and cost of living. It was also credited for having a lot of entertainment for families.
Bloomington ranked highest of any city in Illinois, coming in at number 3. It was ranked highly for its short commutes and cost of living. The city also got high marks for entertainment and outdoor recreation options.
