UPDATE APRIL 10 2:10 p.m. (WMBD) — A suspect has been arrested in connection to a Bloomington homicide that took place in the early morning hours of Friday, April 9.
Larry A. Knell, 44, of Normal, was arrested at approximately 10 p.m. Friday night in the parking lot of a Bloomington gas station. He was charged with first-degree murder and transported to the McLean County Jail. His bond has been set at $2 million.
Previously, Bloomington Police personnel received a call regarding a man in the roadway in the 600 block of West Seminary Avenue at approximately 1:36 a.m. on Friday.
Upon arrival, officers found a deceased white man lying in the roadway. It was observed he had been stabbed multiple times.
McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder has identified the victim as Dale E. Baughman, 59, of Normal.
Later Friday morning, detevtives, officers, and analysts were able to identify the victim and establish his activity over the past 24 hours, interview witnesses, and gather a variety of electronic evidence across the area.
By Friday afternoon, the team identified and located a suspect vehicle, interviewed several people of interest, and generated information leading to the issuing of an arrest warrant for Knell.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A homicide on Seminary Avenue in Bloomington has resulted in the death of a man, Bloomington Police said.
At approximately 1:36 a.m. Friday, April 9, officers arrived to find a white male dead in the roadway.
