ST. LOUIS COUNTY — The previously-reported missing Creve Coeur man was found dead in St. Louis County, Creve Coeur Police Chief Dale King said Tuesday night.

The man, 49-year-old James M. Andrae, was reported missing by his family on May 8. His body was recovered from the banks of the Mississippi River on Friday morning by St. Louis County officials.

The St. Louis County Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified Andrae, King said.

The Jeep belonging to Andrae was found in a park on May 12, with the keys inside the vehicle.

Police said Andrae struggled with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, and that he did not take any of his medication with him. King  previously said it is believed that he left of his own accord.

Tuesday, the police chief said no foul play is suspected, and the investigation is closed.
