Books to Benefit in Bloomington will be starting a new book sale this weekend.

With Veterans Day around the corner, the book store will be featuring a collection of all of the American wars, Wednesday through Sunday.

Customers will be able browse for free, but are encouraged to check out the rare collection of books the store is offering.

“Those (the collections) are the kinds of things we want people to come and look at,” said Dr. Mary Ryder with Books to Benefit. “We’ve tried to make it accessible to them in hope that they will remember the veterans. This is Veterans Day coming and the contributions they have made are invaluable and we want to honor all of them all the way back to the civil war.”

The event concludes on Sunday but will pick back up on Nov. 10, when books to benefit will host a special veterans day event at YouthBuild McLean County.

All of the proceeds from the sale will benefit Star Adult Literacy and YouthBuild McLean County’s literacy programs. A portion will also provide financial support for the Community Service Textbook Scholarship at Heartland Community College.
