BPD arrests men in separate sexual abuse cases against minors

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — The Bloomington Police Department arrested two men regarding sexual assault against minors in separate cases.

Thursday, the BPD said it, along with the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force, arrested Juan Lorenzo, 41, for eight counts of predatory criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 13. Josue Rodriguez-Soto, 40, of Bloomington, was also arrested for 20 counts in several sexual abuse cases against a minor between the ages of 13-18. 

Bonds for Lorenzo and Rodriguez-Soto were both set at $1 million.

Officials said both arrests stem from separate investigations into the long term sexual abuse of the minor victims.

The men are being held in the McLean County Jail.
