Bloomington Police Chief, Clay Wheeler, held his bi-monthly meeting to let residents know about recent crime in the area.
More than 50 community members showed up to hear statistics and about ways they can help prevent further incidents.
Police say they can work to prevent crime by reaching out to children and teens in the community and providing a role model.
Area residents say they are glad to have a department that is willing to communicate to the community.
Wheeler says meetings like this provide an element of transparency that is needed to improve the community.
