BPD makes armed subject arrests, officer injured

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — The Bloomington Police Department has arrested two area men regarding a report of armed suspects.

At approximately 12:15 a.m. Friday, the BPD was dispatched to the 700 block of N Roosevelt St. Officers from third shift patrol stopped a vehicle leaving the scene and conducted an investigation into the report.

Ultimately, 36-year-old David L. Castillo of Heyworth was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, resisting/obstructing an officer with injury, and driving on a suspended license.

Keir M. Spinks, 25, of Normal, was also arrested for felon in possession of a firearm.

One officer sustained minor injuries from the arrest.
