PEORIA — Bradley University’s speech team is back from winning a national tournament over the weekend.
The team won the American Forensics Association national tournament again, after previously winning it in 2013.
Bradley students cheered for team members as they returned to campus Monday afternoon. Team members were thankful for the support and said they look forward to more competitions in the future.
“It’s unlike anything we could have prepared ourselves for, none of us have been on a team that has won before,” speech team president Megan Magee said. “So to have been here and see the way that our community reacted like this is amazing.”
Next week, the National Forensic Association tournament in California.
UPDATE: Bradley will be celebrating the speech team Tuesday, in the Hardin Circle of Pride at 2 p.m., wherespeech team flags will be raised in their honor.
