PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria Public Schools Foundation held its second annual Brats and Brews event Friday at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.

The event served brats, beer, chips and ice cream all while raising money for the foundations uniform fund. Peoria Public Schools require its students to wear uniforms from Kindergarten – 8th grade. One of the foundation’s goals is to raise $10,000 a year to buy uniforms for students in need.

The Peoria Public School foundation has been around over 25 years. The foundations president Cindy Morris said the foundation help students all around the district.

“We have 27 schools in our school district, and every year pretty much every school gets assistance with the funds that we raise in the uniform fund,” Morris said.

Anyone who would like to donate to the fund can go to the foundations website.
