PEORIA, Ill. - Peoria native Jim Thome has been selected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
He played 22 seasons in the MLB from 1991 to 2012. He played for six different teams including the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Chicago White Sox.
He's one of only a few MLB players to ever hit over 600 homeruns and has homered in 48 different ballparks, according to MLB.com.
Thome will now have a plaque at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
