Candidates for Tazewell County Clerk answer questions from residents

Local News

Voters in Tazewell County will choose a new clerk this year.

There are three candidates running for the County Clerk position. They are Shelly Hranka, John Ackerman, and Brett Grimm.

Thursday night, the Morton Tea Party hosted a “Republican Rumble” to allow candidates to campaign and answer some questions some Morton residents had.

Here’s what each candidate had to say:

Brett Grimm

Tazewell County is an incredibly well run and organized place. We’ve got people that are retiring and we’ve got the financial situation of the state. Those two items lend towards my skills and my talents, because of that, I feel like i’m the best candidate for you.

John Ackerman

I ask you to join me, help me with this. Together we can grow, strengthen and improve the office of Tazewell County Clerk.

Shelly Hranka

I feel like I’m the right one to help them, encourage them and lead them into the next four years.

There are also three candidates for Tazewell County Coroner. Those candidates are Steve Bresnahan, Charles Hanley, and Scott Price.
