Investigators are working to learn the cause of a fire in Carlock Tuesday afternoon.
The fire happened at J and J Powercoating on Washington Street.
Crews responded after 12 p.m. when employees say they heard popping noises. Only two employees were inside when the fire happened, both got out safe. It took crews over an hour to put out the fire, with five departments responding. Investigators say the building is a total loss.
The village was put under a boil order since large amounts of stored water was used to put out the fire.
In doing so, the village depleted a large percentage of their reserve, so they sent off samples to make sure their water was safe for use.
Wednesday, shortly after 12:30 p.m., the samples came back clean.
The boil order is lifted.
