The Unit 5 School District is celebrating 70 years of education services. Wednesday former and current board members gathered at Kingsley Junior High School to reminisce on past experiences they’ve had with the district.
Graduating classes from the 50’s and 60’s were also there looking at old pictures and admiring the changes the schools have made.
Board members say they are happy with the direction the district has gone in and they hope for more success in the future.
“It’s got a colorful history,” said former Unit 5 Superintendent Alan Chapman. “A history of great success, preparing young people for success in the world. I think its a school district that the community can be proud of.”
Unit 5 used the celebration to unveil their new logo. They say the emblem is a great way to begin the next 70 years.
