Changes coming to the Peoria Civic Center’s NYE party

Local News

Fall weather is still here but winter is on the minds of many working with the City of Peoria.

Organizers are already preparing for the 2018 New Year’s Eve countdown. This year’s event will look different from years past, with the end of the PNC Winterfest. The Peoria Civic Center will no longer have the outdoor ice rink or sledding hill.

The new general manager Rik Edgar hopes families will join in on the fun to help make the event a tradition for years to come.

Our goal is to be the place to be in the entire state of Illinois,” said Edgar. He adds, “We will have a full day of events the entire family can enjoy.”

The event is free for all ages and there will be two countdowns. One at 7 p.m. for children and another at midnight.
